Resources: Rite of Marriage

wedding

Congratulations on believing in Marriage! 🙂

We can’t tell you how encouraged we are that you have decided to get married in the Catholic Church. And because you’ve decided to do so, we hope you’ll equally want to start it in the proper manner of the Mass that the conferring of your Sacrament was meant to be.

We have collated some resources which we hope would help you in putting together  the celebration of your Sacrament of Marriage within the Eucharistic Celebration of the Holy Sacrifice.

We thoroughly understand that you may have experienced Wedding Masses that have been sentimental, romantic, “hip & trendy”, “unique & different” and wish to do the same with yours as well. However, our choir firmly believes in the proper disposition toward the Holy Sacrifice in the Mass, and we would decline any requests that detracts from the guides and instructions stipulated by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

Please select the music as are provided below for reasons that we have described elsewhere on this site, as we are a choir that aims to recover the traditions of the Ordinary Form. Our preferred accompaniment is the Church Organ (we can accommodate the Electone as well).

A suggested love offering of $500 and upwards for the choir will be most appreciated and you may expect about 6 – 8 members from our choir to assist. Your love offering helps us to defray the costs of the choir: choir robes, booking of trainers, booking of training venues, printing of music sheets, printing of chant and polyphony resources not available in our current parish hymnal.

If you wish for a more contemporary treatment for the Liturgy of the Holy Sacrifice, please feel free to approach another ministry to assist you. We only want you to be at peace and pleased with whom you wish to engage to assist you in your ceremony.
